The £40m signing from AS Monaco also hopes to learn from Player of the Year Kante.
"Kante has proved it all," Bakayoko told chelseafc.com. "He was the best player in the Premier League last season in the middle of the pitch and that is not easy.
"To play alongside him can help me progress. I’ve played a match with him for the French national team so we know each other very well and I hope we can do beautiful things together this year."
Bakayoko was in brilliant form for Monaco last season as they won the Ligue 1 title and reached the Champions League semi-finals.
Fellow central midfielder Kante was voted the Premier Leagu's best player last season by fellow players after helping Chelsea with the title.
