El-Kanemi Warriors will host Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in a match day 11 of the Nigerian Professional Football League Sunday in Maiduguri, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Warriors have played their home games in the last two seasons in Kano and Katsina following security concerns in the North East state and its environs.
Completesportsnigeria.com understands that the the NPFL side have been granted permission by the organising body of the league, LMC, to return to their original home ground.
El-Kanemi Warriors had written officially to the LMC seeking for approval to return to return home and play their home games in Maiduguri, claiming relative peace has returned to the state.
"We've gotten approval from LMC to shift our matches to Maiduguri," an El-Kanemi Warriors' official informs Completesportsnigeria.com.
"This means our next home match with 3SC will be played in Maiduguri and everybody is excited," he adds.
Shooting Stars would also confirm that the match against El-Kanemi will take place in Maiduguri.
"We've been told by LMC that the match will hold in Maiduguri," Shooting Stars General Manager, Rasheed Balogun tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
"As we speak now, the team have left Ibadan for Maiduguri.
"They left Ibadan on Thursday for Maiduguri".
Completesportsnigeria.com recalls that last month, El-Kanemi Warriors had threatened to withdraw from the league if LMC failed to grant their permission to move their home games back to Maiduguri.
They had claimed then that they were incurring too much bills prosecuting their NPFL home games away from home.
