El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri head coach Ladan Bosso believes their Sunday’s 2-0 home win over Ifeanyiubah has kept the Maiduguri-based club in contention for a continental football spot next season, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Still basking in the euphoria of his side’s win over hard-fighting Ifeanyiubah, the former Wikki Tourist manager said the win will go a long way to enhance the players’ confidence as they continue their quest to earn continental slot.
“The hope for a continental ticket is still much alive, and all we need to do is pick points from our away matches against Kano Pillars and Lobi Stars and win our two home matches,” Bosso told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“With due respect to FC Ifeanyiubah, we prepared hard for this game since last week and thank God we won.”
Goals from Chibuzor Okonkwo in the 13th minute and a 75th minute winner from substitute Bello Kofarmata ensured El-Kanemi ran away with the three points to occupy fifth position on the log with 52 points behind Enyimba International (54 points), Akwa United (54 points), MFM FC (56 points), and Plateau United (62 points).
