Osimhen Joins Flying Eagles, Rues Wolfsburg Defeat To Real Madrid

Former Golden Eaglets top scorer Victor Osimhen has joined the Flying Eagles camp for the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi.

FIFA U-17 World Cup record scorer with 10 goals Osimhen watched the Champions League clash between his new club Wolfsburg and Real Madrid but was left disappointed as the Spanish club won 3-0 with a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick to qualify for the semi-finals.

Osimhen, who will join Wolfsburg officially in January, and team-mates were at the FIFA Goal Project pitch at the Package B of the National Stadium, Abuja for Day 7 of the Flying Eagles training, according to a Nigeria Football Federation release.

"l am here to show the coaches what I can do. I have trained very hard to be here and just want to play football," he said.

The Flying Eagles will take on Burundi in their first match of the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifying series away in Bujumbura on the weekend of 20 -22 May.

Over fifty players are in camp battling for places in the camp.
