Nigerian table tennis star Aruna Quadri has promised not to disappoint his country in the forthcoming table tennis World Cup in Belgium, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
"This tournament is not my tournament and I am not losing hope," Quadri, who lost in the round of 16 at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Challenge Nigeria Open which ended in Lagos on Sunday, told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"I will continue to work harder. I am going to do my best and represent Nigeria very well in the table tennis World Cup in Belgium in October and I also promise to be a good ambassador of Nigeria.
"By the special grace of God, I am going to Bulgaria and then Czech Republic just to prepare for the World Cup."
Quadri, who was knocked out of the men's singles of the ITTF Challenge on Saturday with by compatriot Bode Abiodun, has promised to take revenge on him whenever they meet again.
"I think Bode Abiodun has been playing very good since the last three years," Quadri admitted. "We have been in the same club so we practice together day and night in Sporting Lisbon. We actually understand each other. We know how we play so I think the game was a 50-50 match. So I think he is a very good player but next time I am going to take revenge."
